Lebih dari sepuluh pemain futsal berusia 17-23 tahun akan disumbangkan ke tim nasional jika dibutuhkan oleh Badan Futsal Nasional PSSI. Pernyataan ini disampaikan Ketua Dewan Penasihat Turnamen Futsal G-23 Irawadi Hanafi – mantan manajer tim nasional sepakbola di Piala Asia 2000 – di Jakarta.Sampai saat ini lima kota – Makassar, Bali, Malang, Medan, dan Bogor – belum menyelesaikan babak penyisihan turnamen yang berbiaya Rp. 4,3 miliar ini. Para juara di 14 kota akan maju ke putaran final di Jakarta, 15-23 Maret, guna memperebutkan hadiah mobil Suzuki Swift, Gran Max, dan sepeda motor.
