The Indonesian Culture and Tourism Ministry has launched "Visit Indonesia Year (VIY) 2008" in an effort to attract more foreign tourists to the country, December 29, 2007. Indonesian Culture and Tourism Minister Jero Wacik officially declared the start of VIY 2008 at a function in the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Wednesday night, the report said.

It is projected that 7 million foreign tourists will visit Indonesia during the VIY 2008, and the VIY 2008 was aimed at improving the people's welfare through the development of the tourism sector, the report quoted the minister as saying. Jero Wacik said although the tourist arrivals in Indonesia in 2006 was 5.5 million less than its target of 6 million, he was still optimistic that the 7 million target for 2008 would be reached.

"We have prepared more than 100 events across the country in a bid to increase the foreign tourist arrivals," Jero Wacik said before striking a gong marking the commencement VIY 2008. He called all tourism business people and the public in general to become a good host by being hospitable, help maintain security, and keep their regions clean.

Jero Wacik said his office has prepared 15 million U.S. dollars which will be used to promote the VIY 2008 all over the world, among others, through advertisements on overseas TV stations.

Before I start, I was hoping to bring you some figures on thenumber of users who own a scroll-mouse, or at least some recentsales statistics. While I haven't yet found that data, I can saythat I did find that the scroll-mouse (especially optical) areamong the most popular because of the ease it offers inscrolling documents.

With that in mind, the "Adsense Scroll Mouse Theory" goessomething like this:
People scroll a webpage in mainly two different ways: A) Theyare browsing quickly and looking for something to catch theireye, or B) They are reading a document where their scrolling ismuch slower and paced. When a user scrolls the page, there arenatural breaks which occur due to limited finger movement. Basedon the two kinds of scrolling, finger movements and the factthat eye-level content gets the most visibility, an estimate canbe made (in pixels) which determines where the majority of thesebreaks occur at eye-level.

In this experiment, I recorded results from 10 differentscroll-mouse users to measure their scrolls in pixels, based ontwo different scrolling habits.

A) Fast browsing - the average mouse scroll is 600-700 pixelsvertically, meaning when the user pauses, their eye-level fallswithin the 600-700 pixels range on the page (from the top of thedocument, not the browser). They scroll and stop, scroll andstop. They have no choice.

B) Slow browsing - the average slow mouse scroll is 400-460pixels vertically (scrolling in smaller chunks while reading),meaning that they pause at eye level every 400-460 pixelsvertically. As they read a section, they usually start to scrollbringing more content up into their immediate eye-level.

Considering these two key mouse scrolling behaviours, it wouldmake sense to place ads exactly at these points, or use anoverall average to concentrate ads within every 400-700 verticalpixels on the page. The best
fit would be a 336x280 ad block asit catches both ends of the slow & fast scroll.

You might be wondering about people using a browser's scrollbarinstead of a scroll-mouse. With a browser's scrollbar, fastscrolling habits either stopped at around the 2000 pixel mark(for very long pages equal to just slightly more than half-waydown a page) or the bottom of the page. For slow scrollinghabits, the pauses occurred at eye-level about every 400-460pixels, just as with a scroll-mouse.

The consistency in slow mouse & slow browser scrolling habitswould leave you to assume that Adsense ads placed around the400-460 mark might be something worth testing on your ownwebsite.

But consider this too: Initial eye-level on a webpage issomewhere around the 200-231 pixel mark. You could try placingads at this point, the 400-460 mark, and then at the 600-700mark. This way you are getting immediate visibility with the topads first presented when the page loads, caching slow readers asthey scroll, and catching fast scrollers too. The only groupyou'd have a problem slowing down are the ones using browserscrollbars. Images used next to Adsense ads can help catch theirattention, especially if the page has a lot of text.

Now it's very likely someone else has already thought of thisand it's already been discussed to death. I haven't foundanything related to it. Everything here is really just theory,but something I plan to test myself using live test subjects (itsounds cooler than 'search users') and will post results as theycome.

And convince others in the house of the same: no one is allowed to interrupt during work hours, just as if you were at a building downtown where they would not be allowed to ask you where the ketchup is, if you would iron a shirt, or whether you minded if they blew a few joints while listening to jungle drums at 200 decibels. Discourage aberrant and invasive behavior from family members, roommates, and clients…who will also try to test you as a child does, and not pay, or email you ten times in one hour to ask you how it’s going, or who will try to get you to do unnecessary, extra, revisionary work for free.

Tips : How To Get Listed In Google In 1 - 2 Days

Here is a little experiment with some very interesting results I did to see if I could get listed in Googles search engine in under 2 days (48 hours), best of all for FREE.

Step 1. First you will need a good keyword. Pick something that you feel you could easily find content for on the internet, which is just about anything.

Step 2. Do a little research on google to see how many people have relative content for that keywood showing up in the listings. For example if you choose "Game Copy Software" you will notice in the upper right hand side of the search results about 33,800,000 pages found for that keyword combination. Thats a pretty competative combination. Try several untill you can get the results down to about 10 -20 thousand without having to use more than 3 or 4 keywords in your combination. As an example I chose "Celebrity Coochie Pop". I know it sounds weird but hey it worked.

Step 3. I set up a blogger blog, for FREE I might add, then found some recent and relative pictures on the web and added them to my new blogger site at celebrity-coochie-pop.blogspot.com.

Step 4. You will want to add a widget on the side bar, I recommend to use the new feature called "Newsreel". I typed in "celebrity gossip" and added it to the side bar which will show current information on that particular search topic so you now have some current and ever-changing content on your new blogger site.

Step 5. Add a few more widgets to your side bar which there are plenty to choose from in blogger called "add a page element" like, pictures, video, lists,link, and yes even Adsense plus a whole lot more and you pretty much have a good start.

Step 6. Here is the best part. Go to Spicy Page and join, yes its FREE too, add your new blogger site to their listings. Once again this is all FREE to set up.

Kuta: a former fishing village in Bali Island

Kuta is now the center of an extensive tourist-oriented urban area that merges into the neighboring towns. Legian, to the north, is the commercial hub of Kuta and the site of many restaurants and entertainment spots. Most of the area’s big beach-front hotels are in the southern section of Tuban.

Legian and Seminyak are northern extensions of Kuta along Jl. Legian and Jl. Seminyak. They are somewhat quieter suburbs with cottage-style accommodations, where many of the expat crowd live. Also to the north are Petitenget, Berawa, Canggu, and Seseh - new and quieter continuations of Kuta’s beach. They are easy to reach through Abian Timbul or Denpasar and Kerobokan. Several large hotels are located in this area: the Oberoi Bali, Hard Rock Hotel Bali, the Intan Bali Village, the Legian in Petitenget, the Dewata Beach and the Bali Sani Suites in Berawa. To the south, Kuta Beach extends beyond the airport into Jimbaran.

Kuta is just 2 miles from Ngurah Rai airport in Tuban, making it an ideal first night for many visitors. An airport taxi might cost around 25,000rp, dropping you in the Poppies Lane / Benesari area, with a choice of budget / mid-range accommodation.

After the 2002 Sari Club / Paddy’s Bar bombing, Kuta’s nightlife hit the skids. Seminyak seemed to be charging ahead with new bars opening, some of which were conspicuously open at the front, allowing easy escape should there be another bombing. Kuta’s location however meant that was due for a rebound, so with MBarGo, Hook, The Wave, the new Paddy’s, Sky Lounge and other venues, Kuta is a strong contender for nightlife action.

Kuta may not be paradise, but it is not the hell hole some travellers make it out to be.

The Story of AGLOCO

1. November 21, 2006:AGLOCO launches its referral program. It takes of like wildfire and grows at a phenomenal rate, being fuelled by some of the big boys like John Chow. A few critics are already sceptical about AGLOCO. At this stage they are not widely believed. The blogosphere wants a good internet money making program and trusts in John Chow.

2. February 10th 2007 The AGLOCO Viewbar release date is predicted to be in March. This causes even more excitement and the promotion of AGLOCO soars.

3. Even after the Viewbar is delayed, referrals keep being made at record levels. The AGLOCO critiques start to be listened to by some old AGLOCO members. Overall AGLOCO numbers are growing. Many old members (including John Chow) make the excuse that they are glad the Vewbar release has been delayed because it gives them more time to grow their AGLOCO network. The reality is that many of the members they first referred have forgotten about AGLOCO, which cancels out a large percentage of the hoards of new referrals.

4. The AGLOCO Viewbar gets seriously delayed. Most of us can understand a young company can be set back a few weeks, maybe even a month or so. However, the extended delays lasting months allowed the AGOCO critiques to really profit from their topical and controversial jokes about AGLOCO being a scam.May 14th 2007.

Number 4 seems to have lasted for a very long time, but at last a new stage has been entered. John Chow makes a video of him using the AGLOCO Viewbar. This is currently having the effect of providing relief to the masses, but the AGLOCO critiques are now too strong to be swatted away by this video.The main argument against AGLOCO is that it takes time to make referrals and so if it doesn’t pay off, it could be called a scam in the sense that members time has been wasted.

Even if the Viewbar launched today, that point remains to be true because of the massive delays and time taken up. Many old referrals have become/stayed inactive and are unlikely to ever use the Viewbar and so are valueless.

I remain an AGLOCO supporter. The video makes it obvious they are not anywhere near being a mere Internet money making scam. I believe the hardest part of the AGLOCO journey is ending and we can look forward to the Viewbar release and success with AGLOCO.

Antonio Blanco: The Maestro from Bali

Early life
Don Antonio Blanco hailed from Catalonia is Spain, born on September 15, 1911 in the Ermita district of Manila. Blanco was educated at the American Central School in Manila. During his high school years he loved the arts, literature and language classes but struggled in scientific subjects. No wonder he spoke six languages - Spanish, French, English, Tagalog, Indonesian and a bit of Balinese.

Education
After completing high school in Manila, Blanco studied at the National Academy of Art in New York under Sidney Dickinson. Even during those early formative years, Blanco concentrated on the human form, fascinated by the female body more than any other subject matter. After finishing his study in New York, he travelled extensively throughout the world to further his studies and ignite his vagabond spirit. Finally he landed in Bali in 1952. Later the King of Ubud granted him 2 hectares of land on the spot where 2 streams come together creating the Campuhan River.

Family
After marrying a famous Balinese dancer, Ni Ronji, the Maestro lived in Bali with his 4 children, Tjempaka, Mario, Orchid and Maha Devi. The family home is a palatial hilltop house with a thatched bamboo roof, stone carvings, gilded statues and lush gardens. After a brief trip to the United States where Blanco secured many new collectors, the couple didn’t leave their fantasy home at all.

The artist
Blanco lived and worked in his magical hilltop home till his death in 1999, creating feverishly his fantasy portraits of beautiful women. Surrounded by lush gardens, rice fields and a Banyan tree standing over his family’s temple, Antonio Blanco proceeded to create a new reality for himself. His isolated world was much sought after by eager art lovers, collectors and promoters. In a few years, Blanco became arguably one of the most famous foreign artists to make Bali his home. He was recognized in both Indonesia and abroad, receiving numerous awards and commanding huge prizes at international auctions.

By the end of his life, Blanco was building his museum at his studio in Campuhan. Dramatically he died just before its inauguration. His funeral was marked by a very important cremation in Ubud. It was Blanco’s dream to turn his studio-mansion into a museum. His son, Mario, fulfilled this dream by following his path to become a painter. The Blanco Renaissance Museum is now open to the public, performing both the maestro’s and Mario’s artworks.

As such, it is in your best interests to make sure your site displays relevant ads. Here are few tips for improving your content relevancy to produce more accurately targeted contextual

FIRST THINGS FIRST

Bali Bombing: Tragedy in 2002

At 23:05 (15:05 UTC) on 12 October 2002, a suicide bomber inside the nightclub Paddy’s Pub detonated a bomb in his backpack, causing many patrons, with or without injuries, to immediately flee into the street. Fifteen seconds later, a second and much more powerful car bomb hidden inside a white Mitsubishi van, was detonated by another suicide bomber outside the Sari Club, located opposite Paddy’s Pub.

The van was also rigged for detonation by remote control in case the second bomber had a sudden change of heart. Damage to the densely populated residential and commercial district was immense, destroying neighbouring buildings and shattering windows several blocks away. The car bomb explosion left a one meter deep crater.

The local Sanglah hospital was ill-equipped to deal with the scale of the disaster and was overwhelmed with the number of injured, particularly burn victims. There were so many people injured by the explosion that some of the injured had to be placed in hotel pools near the explosion site to ease the pain of their burns. Many of the injured were flown to the relatively close proximity of Darwin and Perth for specialist burns treatment.

In all 202 people were killed in the Kuta bombings. The effect on the tourist industry was massive, with many Australians declaring they would never set foot in Bali again. The local economy suffered greatly and many local businesses went bankrupt, locals sometimes returning to their village to farm rice. The economy was slowly recovering when a second bombing occurred in 2005.

AdSense in RSS

With the growth of blogs and RSS feeds you’re starting to see adsense included in the feeds now. IMHO this doesn’t work, and here’s why:

- You only get to place one ad unit.

Hari Ini, Saya Sudah Download AGLOCO Viewbar !

Akhirnya, bagi anda yang bermukim di kawasan Indonesia -- termasuk saya juga tentunya -- sudah bisa mendownload Viewbar mulai hari ini, Selasa 5 Juni 2007. Saya baru saja men-download-nya pukul 10.05 WIB pagi ini. Untuk mendownloadnya, Anda cukup login ke account Anda, nanti Anda akan melihat tombol download Viewbar. Klik saja di situ.

Filenya tidak terlalu besar, hanya sekitar 2,17 Mb. Tidak masalah pada saat mendownload. Meski bisa jadi banyak orang men-download pada saat bersamaan pada pagi ini.

Saya mendownload menggunakan software untuk mendownload Download Accelerator Plus 7, dan hanya memerlukan waktu tidak sampai 5 menit (sekitar 4 menit 55 detik !)

Barusan si Viewbar yang ditunggu-tunggu banyak orang ini sudah saya install dan sekarang sudah duduk manis di bagian bawah explorer. Cuma iklannya ternyata belum ada, jadi ketika saya test ya masih kosong. Ada 4 pilihan warna skin yang bisa digunakan: blue, green, purple dan red. Pilihan bahasanya cuma ada dua (untuk Asia): Inggris dan Cina. Viewbar bisa disimpan di bawah atau di atas, tergantung selera.

Semua pengaturan tadi bisa diakses dengan cara meng-klik kanan icon lingkaran hijau Agloco di tray bagian kanan bawah. Begitu di-klik, akan muncul menu yang memudahkan Anda untuk melakukan pengaturan atau setting.

Sorry to be so long between posts. There was no meaningful news to give you until today.

We have made a workaround regarding the ad server problem and we will finally be launching the Viewbar. Some, but not all, of our ad networks will be connected. These networks have enough ads on them, so we are comfortable releasing the software as we continue to work on the outstanding issues that remain with the other networks. All of the preliminary Viewbar functions are there, but with the ad problems we will not be initially launching with the personalized ad targeting. We will continue to develop this capability after we have launched and when it is available the new version of the software will be incorporated into your viewbar automatically.

Remember that this is the first version of the Viewbar (v1.0), and with the Viewbar being automatically self-updating software, gradual improvement (both aesthetically and functionally) will appear seamlessly (you also have an option to turn off this feature and ask for updates manually, though we recommend leaving the auto-updating feature active so that you always have the latest software as improvements are made).

This weekend the Viewbar download is being moved from the test servers to the main servers. We will NOT need to temporarily take down the web site as we had thought, so we will not be sending out an email warning on that. If the transfer goes smoothly, the first download emails will be going out Monday morning California time (early Tuesday in Asia).

Please remember:

If you have a Norton firewall you may be asked to allow access to "viewbar.exe" and "update.exe" (please check "Permit Access Always" for proper installation of the Viewbar).

The Viewbar is currently available for Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Vista and will work with IE (Internet Explorer) or Firefox browsers.

Ad Unit Multiples in AdSense

Another way to increase ad revenue is to use multiple ad units. According to Google’s TOS you are allowed to post up to three ad units per page. Similar to standard search results the highest paying ad units will be served first and the lowest being served last.

If there is enough of an ad inventory, place all three ad units. However you should pay attention to the payouts. Current assumption is you get 60% of the revenue (on a $0.05 click you get $0.03).

So if a click from the third ad unit is only paying between 3 to 5 cents you may want to omit it from your page. This is one are where giving your ad units channels does have value. If one ad unit is getting a higher percentage of click throughs you’ll want to make sure the highest paying ads are being served there.

TIP: Use CSS positioning to get your highest paying ads serving in the location with the highest CTR.

Untuk sementara, Agloco belum meminta detail bank account kita, tetapi saya rasa jalan yang akan ditempuh adalah dengan direct deposit seperti apa yang di gunakan oleh Google. Sselama ini Google membayar dengan direct deposit.

Ke dua, Agloco sekarang super hati hati karena dia tidak mau jatuh seperti di waktu lampau. Ambil contoh Koran Sydney Morning Herald. Jika kita mau pasang iklan di koran tersebut harganya mahal sekali. Lain ceritanya jika ingin pasang iklan di koran lokal. Karena apa? Karena koran Sydney Morning Herald memiliki jauh lebih banyak pembaca.
Begitu juga AGLOCO. Semakin banyak AGLOCO memiliki anggota/members, anda, saya dan orang-orang lain...maka AGLOCO akan dapat mengenakan biaya yang lebih mahal kepada perusahaan pemasang iklan.

90% dari bayaran yg diterima AGLOCO dari perusahaan iklan, akan diberikan kepada anggota AGLOCO, 10% digunakan untuk menggaji the management team AGLOCO (ada di FAQ).

Karena sekarang belum dapat diketahui BERAPA BESAR JADINYA AGLOCO INI, maka Agloco belum dapat memastikan berapa jumlah bayaran yang akan kita terima, bagaimana cara pembayarannya dll. Targetnya, AGLOCO hendak memiliki 10 million members pada bulan Juli 2007. Jumlah anggota yang ditargetkan ini besar!! Jika memang Agloco bisa mencapai target sebanyak itu, saya rasa dia mampu mengenakan harga yang agak mahal kepada perusahaan yg memasang iklan, dengan demikian berarti kita akan menerima pembayaran yang lebih besar juga.

Hari ini (30 April 2007), saya menerima email dari Dan Jorgensen, Member Coordinator dari Agloco, soal update terbaru Viewbar dan beberapa hal lainnya. Anda juga mungkin menerima email yang sama. Buat yang belum, berikut ini saya sarikan isi email tersebut:

1.Masih harus bersabar. Pokoknya, begitu dapet giliran download Viewbar, Anda akan mendapat email pemberitahuan berisi istruksi lengkap.
2.Maksimum jam surfing adalah 5 jam dalam sebulan. Dari referral, Anda mendapat bagian 25% dari jam surfing mereka. Jadi jika referral surfing 5 jam, Anda mendapat 1,25 (0,25 x 5) jam, langsung ditambahkan ke total jam surfing Anda. Tapi jika jam surfing Anda hanya 3 jam misalnya, sementara referral Anda 4 jam, maka yang masuk ke jam surfing Anda hanya 3 jam pertama dari referral Anda (sesuai dengan total jam surfing Anda). Perhitungan jam surfing ini akan pembagian uang tunai serta saham untuk Anda.
3.Tahap awal, Viewbar hanya diperuntukkan bagi pengguna Windows (Vista, XP, 200 Pro dan 200 Server). Untuk pengguna Macintosh/Linux, masih harus menunggu. Viewbar ini kompatinel dengan IE 5.5 ke atas dan Firefox 1.5 ke atas.
4.Distribusi uang tunai tidak bisa langsung dilakukan, karena harus menunggu hingga mencapai positive cash flow (keuntungan dikurangi biaya). Namun update soal laporan keuangan ini nantinya bisa di-akses setiap saat di http://blog.agloco.com.
5.Satu Viewbar bisa digunakan oleh beberapa orang dalam satu komputer. Meski demikian, penggunaannya tetap harus bergiliran.
