Google announced a major investment in a project that supports the campaign "clean energy". The project was given the name "4 Photivoltaic Solar (PV)".
This investment adds to the company's portfolio of environmentally friendly projects owned by Google, the total value of nearly touching the 1 billion U.S. dollas.
Invest 94 million U.S. dollars is funding the first phase provided by Google to generate energy into the grid of the United States. Previous projects have brought 10 thousand homeowners to install solar energy utilization.
"We believe in investing in renewable energy sector is a business that makes sense and hope for clean energy projects continue to attract new sources of capital to help move the world toward a future with sustainable energy," writes Axel Martinez, Assistent Google Treasure of Treasury, who wrote on the Google blog post.
Previously Google has also invested more than 880 million U.S. dollars in 2011 on various renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and transmission solutions.
For Solar PV project, Google is working with the global investment firm KKR and developer of solar energy, namely Recurrent Energy.
Besides Google, SunTap Energy, which is a joint venture owned by KKR, will focus on the U.S. solar power project, which will contribute to the company's first investment the United States.
